Our Story: Born from Struggle, Built on Strength

In the year 2000, a small group of determined individuals in Assam’s rugged landscapes came together with a shared dream—to turn their struggles into strength. They knew firsthand the challenges of living with disabilities in a region where accessibility was an afterthought and opportunities were scarce. But instead of waiting for change, they became the change.

That spark of resilience grew into NEDDS (North East Disabled Development Society)—a movement that has since transformed thousands of lives across Northeast India. What began as a humble initiative is now a powerful force for inclusion, empowerment, and sustainable development.
